Prof: Syed Qadir / Fall 2021
Jan 11, 2022
The content itself was fine, but the way Mr. Qadir administered it was particularly terrible.
The class was administered through required reading, videos, and discussion questions. This sounds fine on paper, but the execution of this was lacking in almost every way. The videos were overly long and made up the majority of lecturing. The videos also came from YouTube and didn't have the same rigor a proper professor would. The readings were supplemented with no questions as to make them even worth while in participating in (you could watch just the videos and get through everything). The discussion questions were particularly bland as they only encouraged half-hearted "discussion" as people copy and pasted answers off wikipedia and commented "I Agree!" to one another.
While generally well meaning, he was awful at his job. His English was terrible, his "learning" methods ineffective, and class an over all bore.
Learn everything yourself about economics on your own through a much more talented person if you can as to breeze through this class. Otherwise, take literally anyone else.
