The class is an easy and interesting elective and I recommend anyone looking for something like that to take it.

You get to learn lots about animals and plants and nature in general. You will learn a thing or two even if you don't have much time to put into the course.

The video lectures are very engaging and Prof. Runtz is very enthusiastic about his work and sharing the amazing pictures he takes!

It is a very easy elective and does not require much work to do well in. But it is also an interesting course if you want to learn some things about the nature around you.

Very exam heavy, just have good notes. I usually don't like online courses, but this was amazing.

If you like nature you'll like this course.

Funny guy, you'll enjoy watching him. He keeps your attention, very entertaining.

Easy online but I can imagine this is very heavy in person. Lots of things to memorize. So if that’s something you struggle with maybe stay away. Amazing prof!!!

Runtz is a great prof, his lectures are captivating.

Mike Runtz makes this class a good one. He's one of the more entertaining profs at Carleton. You learn about different plants and animals in Ontario, and how they eat, mate and survive. It's all from a high-level point of view, no complex biological stuff. It is a lot of memorization though. You have online tests and then a midterm and exam which are all multiple-choice. He usually would hint at what is important to know though (usually highlights it in red).
