Prof: Giuseppe Cumella / Winter 2023
May 4, 2023
Amazing class. Cumella goes in-depth about ideas like democracy, public opinion, and more theoretical concepts, making complex ideas easy to understand.
Two multiple choice exams, but very efficient study guide. News report assignments due weekly. Lectures the whole time, so get ready to take notes.
Awesome professor with awesome lectures. Keeps the class engaged the whole time while getting the material across clearly and efficiently. He speaks elegantly but is easy to understand. Sophisticated gentleman.
Cumella's section of this class deals with the topics more analytically and requires you to think critically. Not a survey course. Tests are somewhat difficult but if you talk to him, he'll help you fill out the study guide.

Prof: Keith Simonds / Fall 2021
May 4, 2023
Easy high school level civics class. Somewhat boring because of how basic it is. Every topic is covered broadly and easy to memorize. Required course for P. Sc. Take it with Keith for an easy A.
There were a few papers and group projects, but mostly lectures, copied and pasted from the textbook onto the PowerPoint he reads from. We covered the declaration, constitution, branches of government and political parties. Two easy multiple choice/short answer exams and constitution test, which is exactly the same as the one in high school, memorize the amendments and sections.
Solid dude. Gentle giant (probably like 6'7 and looks like a viking) very chill and down-to-earth guy with a kind and simple personality. His voice is deep and monotone so pretty boring lecturer. Gives extensions without penalties and easy grader. Easy to talk to.
You won't learn much beyond what you already knew from high school, but for a required course its an easy A.
