Calculus is interesting because the concepts of calculus is fairly simple and easy to understand, but because it involves intense algebra and trigonometry it gets very difficult.
Learn limits, different types of differentiation, and beginning of integrals. There is a weekly quiz on topics covered on the previous week. There are 10 questions on the practice quiz, and 2 are selected to be on the quiz with different numbers. Exams are 7 questions, and there is a website they use that has previous semesters and years exams on for practice. There are 4 exams, 3 midterm, 1 final, and from any 4, 4 of your worst scored questions are dropped. Grade weights change throughout class cause of curves on exams. 5 homework assignments are dropped, and there are 3 each week.
Professor Bolles was a good professor. She does go on a fast pace, but she is very good explaining things in good depth when someone asks a question about something. Very nice person to talk to.
Make sure to stay ahead. If you're not understanding any of the concepts, you need to go to help hours or SI reviews. You can also go to office hours and talk with your professor if you need additional help. Doing practice quiz and exams helps understanding the material even further and helps you feel more confident.
