great online lectures with stuff in there to keep you focused. Plus, you can rewind and relisten to hard stuff. Starts out easy with chem and cell bio review from high school but quickly gets into the physiology. Lots of concepts. Have to learn it well early in semester so you are not lost later. Summer is better than fall/spring IMO since there are less distractions from other classes in summer. I did better in summer than in fall with another prof. can't memorize your way through but have to understand concepts.
It was one of the only courses that I took that actually applied to medicine, which I like.
very organized and puts everything out there for you to use and do well. But he expects you to use that material. No excuses. Miss a quiz?... to bad, you had a week to take it. Willing to review stuff in office hours though. Still, you gotta be organized and stick to the schedule.
2nd time taking it. But still, need to stick to schedule and realize it gets harder as you go. It is the nature of the course and not really the prof.

This class focuses on concepts more than memorization. yes, there is some stuff to memorize, but not like Anatomy!!!! Dr Brown is one of the better ones since he gives you all his notes, powerpoint, and the lectures are 100% online. you can go back and review any topic that is tricky over and over until you get it. He is available in ofc hours or by zoom. 4 exams which include a cumulative final. in summer 2020 it was all online but I hear in the future its hybrid (show up for exams only). Lab is also in person and really organized, but it also depends on how well your lab group works together. Challenging course for sure, but Dr Brown does not make it impossible. Study hard and you can get a decent grade.
physiology - how the bodys organ systems work and work together. Required for most medical field careers
Very helpful. Very organized. He sets up the class so if you want to learn you can and be successful. But he is not going to baby you along and give out free point for nothing. You have to put in the effort. Most importantly you have to stay on schedule. You can't fall behind because it gets harder as the semester moves ahead. The material builds on itself. So get behind early and its really hard to catch up.
I wish I'd known that you have to understand and apply concepts. You can't just memorize your way through like in Anatomy class
