I personally hate history so I definitely did not enjoy this class but that's just me. I did like most of the grade came from essays and discussions instead of quizzes but that also probably just a me think

Lots of content for a core class but doable. Main grade comes from 4 or 5 essays which I liked that instead of it being exams (I am horrible with memorizing history)

Not the best. Doesn't teach, you just read the textbook. I emailed him for help a few times and he didn't respond. When he finally did he just said "I didn't get your emails" completely ignoring my asks for help so its very much so a "do it yourself course"

If you would rather have a history class that's not so memorization heavy, take this course because of the essays. If you would rather have it memorization, don't take this class because only about less than a quarter of the grade is memorization based
