Comments on the course

This is the introductory integral calculus and discrete math course taken by all STEM students in U0. This course builds off the content in MATH 139/140. The Zoom lectures were well paced, and assessments fair. The course is split into two sections: integrals, and sequences and series. Each section begins with some heavy theory, and ends with practical methods to solve problems.

Course Content

Integration: limit definition, Riemann Sums, Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, integrating polynomials, u-substitution, integration by parts, trigonometric integrals, trigonometric substitution, partial fraction decomposition, arc length, area, surface area, and volume integration by rotating functions about axes, average value of a function, improper integrals. Sequences and Series: telescoping series, geometric series, alternating series, convergence/divergence tests, error estimates.

Comments on the professor

Very nice professor. He goes through the material at a reasonable pace.
