Very interesting and useful course. Highly recommended for anyone interested in hydrologic modeling. Stormwater job postings often specifically ask for many of the tools covered in the course (Arc, SWMM, HEC-HMS).
A survey of hydrologic modeling tools related to all aspects of modeling (data collection, sensitivity analysis, calibration, modeling, etc). Spends about a week on a wide range of tools/topics (e.g. calibration, GIS) and several weeks on the most important ones (e.g. SWMM). Class meetings are generally a short lecture and then an hour or two of lab time. Homework goes more in-depth on the relevant tool; it's not generally that hard, but does go through the full usage of the tool and can therefore be rather involved.
Competent and engaging lecturer and very approachable. Sometimes brings up internship/research opportunities for students.
For practical engineering applications, this is probably the most useful class in the hydrology curriculum. If you're a surface water person and you have the chance, take it.
