It was very easy to succeed, and the class was overall interesting and useful. Attendance wasn't required, and each class was recorded so if you missed you could watch the lecture. There were no assignments, except for two extra credit opportunities. The only things graded were the four unit quizzes (no final) which were exactly like the content of the class. So, if you paid attention and studied, you would easily pass with an A.

The content was easy to follow, even if you have no background in this area, and useful for future classes involving language.

The professor was very nice and approachable. He would crack jokes every once in a while and was always happy to answer questions. Also, he was a good person to teach this class because he was obviously knowledgeable.

You really don't need the book (only if you're struggling), and definitely listen to the lectures and take notes. The four unit quizzes were exactly the content you would put in your notes.
