Course layout and schedule is terrible. You spend the first 5 weeks doing absolutely nothing going over the most basic material. Then at the end of the semester everything is crammed into a few weeks. Exams 2 and 3 are only 2 weeks apart with projects crammed in-between. Class time is devoted to learning how to derive formulas and equations and NO in class time is spent actually solving example problems. Students are expected to complete the homework after not having seen any example problems.
Course content wasn't all that bad, did fine on the exams, but the projects kill your grade. No instruction related to the projects at all, TA's are not allowed to answer any questions regarding the project. Rubric is very vague and non specific, however they grade you extremely meticulously. Course needs a complete redesign to ensure student success.
He is a nice guy, and is knowledgeable on the subjects, however he wastes a lot of class time going over simple things, and doesn't teach harder problems seen on homework/exams.
Don't take it unless it's required for your major.

This is the worst class I've ever taken. There is minimal instruction, the professors and TA either don't know how to teach, don't know the problem or are on completely on a completely different page from each other. Grading on exams, and labs is extremely hard and not equal between professors. They expect you learn everything on your own and exams can be on things they've never even talked about in class. Not to mention the homework is rarely similar to what you do in class.
The first seven weeks of class you do nothing and then the other half of the semester you're crammed with exams and labs every week or every other. Not to mention you have a project due the night before your final and receive minimal instructions on how to complete your projects. No rubrics. No clear instructions on what you need to have, no examples.
They're obviously very passionate about what they do, but there is obviously not a standard for grading exams because on prof will give full credit for a question and the other will mark you down even if you have the same exact answer. They barely teach on the material and are usually confused when you ask a question.
Don't take this class. Any other option is better unless you want to ruin your gpa for no reason.
