Prof: Adeel Bhutta / Fall 2021

Comments on the course

It was okay. Starts off super basic and slowly builds up. Some of the work was pretty annoying, and the final project was long, but very generous TA’s let me get a good grade in this class. (Seriously, my final project was held together by duct tape and glue). Weekly assignments, most you can just spend a day on. Later assignments will require more time. We were taught how to use the Linux servers, so that’s cool.

Course Content

Variables, pointers, memory allocation (just stack vs heap, no calloc’s), rule of five, destructors, debugging, inheritance, templates.

Comments on the professor

He clearly loves this language, but sometimes I felt like the class was kinda unstructured. Also several times he misunderstood a student’s question but still answered it in somehow a roundabout way. Nice guy, gave out free chocolate a few times.

Prof: Seth Cooper / Spring 2019

Comments on the course

I took it this past fall with Seth Cooper. You definitely start at the VERY basics like integers and Booleans and stuff, you don’t need any prior knowledge. Spent probably 2-6 hours a week on homework (it was project based) and got an A. For reference I’m like a B student typically. Can’t speak to other professors but wasn’t bad at all with Cooper
