Prof: Angela Lafuente / Fall 2024
Jan 26, 2025
I loved the course, the material was easy (enough) to absorb without having to deal with too much stress. The lab is super fun because you get to spend the first half of the semester going on lil fieldtrips throughout MQT. (but I also chose to willingly study dirt for a living).
The course content itself made me have a much deeper understanding for how the inanimate world lives and interacts with the living world in harmonious existence. I had no idea how much actually goes into soil science.
Angela is hands down one of the best in the EEGS department at NMU. She's always willing to help students understand material (and sometimes with 100 person lecture that can be difficult for a prof). She's super down to earth and it truly shows in her passion for the outdoors and soil science.
Go to class! And also, be enthusiastic about lab! you get to spend 2 whole hours frollicking in the woods pretty much so you might as well take advantage. I met some of my best friends by getting paired up with them randomly in Soils lab! Because of the "systems interaction" way of thinking, having group discussions is always super helpful too.
