Prof: Kevin Cagg / Spring 2023
Apr 22, 2023
The overall topic was learned within a week or two of working in the real world on RISK MANAGEMENT so it came out a lot drier. Without this class, people probably wouldn't know about risk going into cybersecurity immediately but would eventually get into a role where they have to consider it. This class was dry and boring but gave a lot of free time if you skip.
Lots of presentations, a few discussions, some reading and scenario contemplation. It's like taking oral communications over again but its about cybersecurity.
He doesn't have real formal education training so we are taught like we are employees at a company and lose a lot of depth on the subject. He reads by the powerpoint and uses his own experiences as examples. Just basic honestly.
If you have an internship in IT risk and compliance, this class will be easy peasy boring squeezy. Otherwise, this is an important topic for a cybersecurity student but can be mostly learned on the job.
