Comments on the course

I took the 7 week version of this class, and it was fine for me. I know some of my classmates struggled. All assignments are to be done on your own time, there is an assignment every class (1 class a week). I learned most of the material in my personal finance class in high school, but some things were new and helpful. It was kind of boring and felt pointless but not hard if you just do what the assignments say. There were some 'quizzes' but they had 2 attempts, were only on one module of information, and were done at home so they were not hard. Modules could take a while for me to complete, but that could be because I took the 7 week class so there was more material packed into shorter time periods.

Comments on the professor

Mr Rhoney was kind and had many extra credit assignments. Because it was a 7 week class, attendance was worth 50 points every class, so missing 2 classes drops you a letter grade. It wasn't a problem for me but if you don't have time for this class, figure that out before enrolling. Mr Rhoney was very enthusiastic, but sometimes it felt infantilizing. If you like having an energetic man talk at you at 9 am, this class would be good for you.

Advice

Don't wait for the day a module is due to start it! They can take a while, space it out and you'll do fine.
