The material itself is challenging and requires time and effort to learn. What makes the class bad is the professor and his apathy towards students.

This is a required course for all CIVEs, but it’s not something you’re going to really use again if you’re going into the environmental option. It’s a continuation of statics and strength of materials.

He is the single worst professor I have ever had the misfortune of having. He’s the only one that teaches the class though

That Dr. Russell is conceited (expect to hear about his time at Rice University at least once a week) and bullies his students with accommodations. He flat out denies people their accommodations and you just have to go to SAS to get it sorted. If you ask a question that he deems “stupid” he’ll tell you that. He made a girl cry in class for asking something and it was only week two.
