Literally a repeat course of SOC-396. I haven't read anything or done any notes (not that the professor supplies them) but will get an A solely from relying on the information and notes I took from the previous class. If you paid attention in SOC-396 and felt like you had a good handle on things, you'll do well. It's literally re-teaching what was taught in that class.
Truthfully, unless you're going into research, you'll never use this stuff.
Pros: responds to emails quickly. Cons: poor communication (have to email her to get updates). She does not follow syllabus and changes or cancels due dates for quizzes, tests, assignments, (everything) but doesn't tell you. All "lectures" are through announcements on Canvas and include links to free YouTube videos of crash courses on the topics. She is big on respect (if you call her by her first name she will most likely not respond).
I wish that I hadn't invested in buying the textbook as it wasn't used. I more so have advice for the psych department at PSU: please update your requirements to reflect a course load with information that is beneficial to the end goal of your students. I would hope that more pathways were available as it is one of your biggest departments. I truly don't know why (except for potential money reasons) students would need 3 courses on research statistics. Especially if they teach the same thing.
