Project based course is fun when you get a good team.

The content is relatively easy to understand. Unlike many courses you actually get to make things with what you learn

Dr Turkstra obviously cares about teaching.

Do your work early I guess. Don't sweat too hard, this is an intro class for a reason

Comments on the course

Overall, not bad. His lectures were actually very interesting and he knows how to explain difficult concepts well. My only issue was that sometimes the quizzes were overtly tricky.

Comments on the professor

Great guy. Good sense of humor and very easy to talk to. One of those teachers who want you to learn not to fail.

Advice

If you have a group project like I did. Make sure that everyone either pulls their weight. Hold everyone accountable, my group fell apart at the end because half the group decided to reveal four days before the project was due that they had no idea how to do their parts so two of us finished the whole thing on our own.

Comments on the course

Jeff Turkstra had many rules in this course, but the materials weren't that hard, but it's pretty hard for non-cs majors or someone who is new to programming.

A ton of work that takes time, but its easy to get 100% on it. Can easily have enough points to not need to study for the final.

Comments on the professor

Turkey is hard but a good prof.
