Prof: Darlene Loprete / Fall 2021
Aug 20, 2022
More memorization heavy the further you go into the course. Most of the course content involves primary metabolic pathways the professor deems important though there's some broader content sprinkled in such as biochemistry nomenclature too. Best part is that some of the exams can be done in groups which has helped save grades for a number of people. You'll also be expected to complete weekly assignments in groups.
Acid/base calculations in biochemistry, proteins (particularly those in the blood), major metabolism pathways, primary metabolites. A lot of memorization is required for the metabolism pathways. You'll be expected to know the names, structures, and codes for amino acids by heart.
Good professor overall. Has lots of videos of her lectures to supplement learning. Perhaps just a tad frightening during office hours.
Just have a good memorization study technique ready.
