Comments on the course

We were required to watch an online lecture, complete weekly readings and write a reading response and lecture commentary to answer outlined questions. This course style depends on the student, I found it to be beneficial to talk among peers and bounce ideas and opinions of the readings with others but many of my classmates struggled with this structure.

Course Content

The course was scheduled as a three hour lecture but the Professor broke into three one-hour sections where we got to choose our preferred time. During the lecture, we were split into groups and discussed the readings for the week. Each group was assigned a student discussion leader who wrote questions to guide the discussion.

Comments on the professor

pros: passionate about planning, you could tell he enjoyed what he was teaching which made the class more engaging cons: his grading rubric was hard and caused many students issues, some weeks our weekly responses were really good while others they were not (could be a TA issue though).

Advice

do the readings, even if you're just reading the abstract.
