Prof: William Fisk / Fall 2022
Dec 10, 2022
I feel like this class would be okay, if it were up-to-date. Everything about the lectures seem straight out of 1996. The grading scale of this class also makes no sense. I didn't find out what my grade was until the last week.
The course is made up of 4 presentations. The first one is a job interview where the class asks you questions. He then puts you in a group of three and you make the last 3 presentations with them. The 2nd presentation is to describe a technical topic to an audience. The 3rd is a chapter report off a chapter in the textbook that he assigns. The last one is a how-to presentation. He also assigns monthly chapter readings and there is a quiz for each one.
He is very unorganized. The due date's always change and he is kind of a harsh grader on your presentations. He'll never give you a perfect grade, so it's very hard to get an A in the class. When he puts you in groups, it's based on last name, so the groups later in the alphabet get more time to work on their presentation since he goes in order. Overall, he's a nice guy, but I would not recommend his class to anyone.
If you take this professor, make sure you follow every rule on the presentation assignments.
