The course covers important issues in society, and the way it covers the core topic is gory, visceral, and eye-opening (and tedious).
The course is about different forms of racism and their roots and focuses on racism against black people in America, though many cultures are "discussed," from Asian to Native American. It covers one to three movies a week and sometimes readings. The quizzes test you on your attentiveness instead of the actual film. One of the questions I had on a test was: "Which of the following animals did not appear in the film: chicken, cow, sheep, cat."
