Awesome class, Prof Boyd is very kind and wants the best for his students

very interesting- covers history of warfare from the stone axe (2000 BC) up until the start of WW1

The GREATEST. BEST OF ALL TIME. Most fun I've ever had in any class. Find a way to fit it into your pathways.

Content includes weapons, formations, and tactics used in war from the earliest weapons up to flintlock firearms. Essays require you essentially roleplay a historically accurate situation, and offer extra credit for drawings. Basically take notes and you'll pass.

I never met Boyd in person, nor did I ever receive a lecture from him. However from his emails alone he is a FANTASTIC guy. I've never seen a professor so well received by students, he's universally loved as far as I can tell.

Just take notes, do the readings (they aren't long). Draw pictures and if you have an interest do a little extra research! Other professors should take notes from Boyd!

So easy if you show up and take notes. There’s a couple essays which are more like creative writing as well as weekly quizes.

This history class is told chronologically and gives an incredible frame of reference of everything in human history.

Boyd is the best. So engaging and knows his stuff. Always open for questions.
