The class was not too tricky and the prof was excellent. It is a SMALL CLASS (it's a seminar), so you can't really hide behind a bunch of people... and attendance and participation are graded. The ASTU 100 class is 2 semesters long, so you get 6 credits in the end. These 6 credits can be used to fulfil either all 6 of the BA literature degree requirements OR 3 of the lit. requirements and all 3 writing requirements.

I personally took ASTU 100 with Dr. Mauro while in the Law and Society CAP stream in 2021/22. This seminar pertains to LASO and related topics, so I found it very interesting and useful in my eyes.

Dr. Mauro is a super chill and approachable prof. He is understanding and easy to talk to and come to with any questions.

Read the books! They are a big topic of discussion in class (which is graded) and assignments (papers and reading responses). Nothing is more awkward than being called on in class to share your opinion on a book that you didn't read!
