Loved this class. Prof is super nice and TA's are there to help every step of the way. Assignments are marked somewhat hard because they need to keep a 71% average, but the course content is informative and incredibly fun (you're writing for children after all!). I've learned so much in this class and I've met so many people who I love being around. Would definitely recommend this class to anyone, including people who don't think they can write.

Course Content

3 assignments, a novel review, and 5 participation writing prompts. Very light course work, but be prepared to write every class. Assignment 1: Inciting incident (write the beginning of a middle grade or YA novel) Assignment 2: Non-Fiction (write an excerpt of a non-fiction book for ages 8-12 about a scientific topic or historical event/person) Assignment 3: Picture book (write a picture book manuscript for ages 3-6)
