By far the WORST IR requirement. Called a "concept heavy" econ course (lies). The content is incredibly hard to follow as only concepts are discussed and the math/equations are not taught at all ou are. expected to teach them to yourself. THERE IS NO TUTORIAL SECTION (TA is very difficult to get a hold of and it is hard to practice the content when there is no space to review and ask questions about problems). I also personally disagree with exams worth 50% of your mark.
The content is somewhat interesting and discusses the consequences and advantages of trade. It would be WAYYY more relevant to IR if it spent more time making real-world analyses and applying the concepts to real events. Basically, like all other econ courses, it's pure speculation and delivery is not very useful from an IR perspective.
The professor is ready to help and explain outside of class. However, he talks extremely quickly in lectures so don't expect to have time to process what he says and ask a question. He will reweight if you do badly on midterm/quiz so small plus. Told us we would need to know how to do integrals (you do)
Just don't take this class (unless you love econ). Take the macro one. ESPECIALLY don't take this class if you never took Pre-calculus 12.
