Amazing professor

Advice

Will likely be one of the best professors you will have at UBC. Work hard though or you will barely pass.

Prof: Fok-Sheun Leung / Winter 2019

Comments on the course

one of the most challenging courses i've ever taken but looking back, it really wasn't that bad because Dr. Fok is an excellent prof; he made the textbook free and he genuinely cares about his students. There's also tutorials, office hours and the math learning center for extra help.

Advice

go to office hours! they saved my grade by helping to understand the written assignments and concepts. because of office hours, Dr. Fok is a prof I still speak to, even after finishing the course. my last piece of advice is to do many practice problems. one of the biggest mistakes while studying for this course was spending way too much time rewriting/reorganizing my notes instead of doing practice finals and questions from the textbook. if i had done more practice problems as my study strategy, i could've have easily gotten a higher grade with less stress.
