No textbook, all course content is in the slides. Participation is graded based on contributions to a shared question bank (you write questions on the course content) and answering a specific number of your classmates questions per quarter.
Exams can be rather content heavy (especially the later ones), so I recommend keeping up with course content using cue cards. Make sure to annotate the slides with what the profs say during lecture! Some questions focused on the results of studies that were discussed in class. Exams are mostly multiple choice with a short written section at the end. Group exams are just the same as the individual but weighted less (if you do better individually the group exam mark won’t count). Overall super interesting and highly recommended!

One of the best courses I've taken at ubc. Very interesting content and the exams are fair. Made me want to minor in pharmacology
