Mark Van Raamsdonk is a god. If you love physics, you'll love his classes. If you hate physics, you'll still love his classes.
Difficulty wise, this course is nothing special. A little bit of work will guarantee you an A in this course. I did not work at all so I ended up getting a B.

UBC is so wily to have him teaching PHYS 157. First year students are attracted by his lecture and forget what's happening in some other horrible courses. The course is overall pretty easy, and the professor is very patient.
Practice more and pay attention to lecture problems

Very good introductory course, lots of interesting topics.
Do all the course materials, on exams dont leave questions blank, there are many part marks.

I loved this class. It was made very entertaining and interesting. All of the profs are great and make sure you are given all of the tools you need to be successful in the course
It's easy to succeed in this course. As long as you're engaged in class and do the practice tests you'll be fine
