SOCI 320 is a good course if you take Rafael.
Very applicable to other topics, there's a lot of flexibility in the participation assignments.
Really nice prof. People sometimes complain how hard he is, but I did fine (fell 1% short of an A though). Also sometimes disorganized, but it helps to ask to clarify. Boring lecturer, but you don't need to pay any attention to lectures.
Reading based, although you don't really need to do much. Just read a tad bit for weekly discussion posts, and on some weeks you'll need to do a second to respond to a blog. Get a topic you're interested in (and see if the group size limit times the number of groups adds up to the class size, or mention that and request to be in a full group). There's quizzes on certain weeks (based on readings) easy reflections (based on documentaries, do them early!), policy brief (based on your own research), bonus essay (based on a given news article/podcast, also do it early!), and final exam (based on readings).

Involved memorization and quizzes based on the readings every class. You definitely need to come prepared to succeed.
