Prof: Charles Hunt / Fall 2019
Sep 10, 2021
A lot of electrical engineers tend to hate this course, but I liked it and found the content interesting. It's basically the physics side of semiconductors, sets up nicely for microelectronics.
You start at the basics of what a semiconductor is and then you go to PN junctions, and then to MOSFETS.
Overall the professor was pretty good. This was before covid, so classes were in person, homework was turned in person, and lectures were not posted online. The professor was entertaining in his lecture. Some cons: pop quizzes and MATLAB assignments that were hard.
My advice would be to read the textbook. Unlike most courses, the textbook we used was actually useful and not too dense. Also, go to discussions and review sessions. The TA or professor might give some hints on the exams.
I think there were 2 professors who taught this course, Hunt seemed to be the easier one.
