The course was so difficult yet boring. When he would teach something new he would never go slow or in depth. Everyone and their mom was on their phones or computers during class.
We should have learned classical mechanics and forces but those exams were disgusting. I don't think I'll ever use what little knowledge I have ever again.
I feel like he's in a different realm from us. One where every student gets physics from reading the thick, tedious textbook and speedy lectures.
I wish I knew how hard the midterms were. I got a 0/100 on one of the problems and it curved to a 60/100.

Prof: Thomas Weideman / Spring 2021
Sep 9, 2021
The course was awful! There was way too much work and I feel like I did not get much out of the class.
I learned mechanical physics concepts. However, I feel like I did not learn much at all because I was so focused on finishing his homework that took days to finish and his nearly impossible quizzes.
The professor was awful. The only pro is that he curves very generously (who knew that I can get 40s, 50s, or even less on my quizzes and I could still get a B range grade). The cons were his workload (the homework took days), his lectures were very vague and confusing, he does not respond to emails, and if he does, he responds condescendingly, and his office hours were not helpful because there are so many students there for only ninety minutes total, so it was impossible to get good office hour help. Avoid Weideman!
I should have switched to another professor when I could have.
Any other professor besides him. Blitz, Savrasov, Kim, etc.
