This class is a lot of work and you have to make sure you understand the procedures before you come to lab. There were weekly quizzes and overall a lot of work for a 2 unit class (just like all the other labs).

This course teaches you the basic biology lab techniques that are used in future upper division labs.

Shanks is super scary and can seen unapproachable, but in reality he is super kind and willing to help if you reach out to him! He explains concepts clearly and you always know ahead of time what he is expecting.

The papers take a bit of time to write up so I'd recommend starting those early. Also, if you ever need help or want someone to look over your paper before you turn it in, ask your TA since they'll be the ones grading them
