Prof: Kim Valenta / Fall 2023
Dec 7, 2023
The workload was reasonable and a lot of insightful information was presented. Going to lecture is very important as Dr. Valenta relays information that may not always be present on the slides.
This course is about evolutionary human biology (basic osteology), primate ecology & traits, and the evolution of humans and other hominins.
Dr. Valenta is very passionate about the subject and is very insightful. She does not expect one to remember every little detail but wants to get the main points across.
Go to every lecture and pay attention. Participate in the labs as best as you can and go to office hours.

Very good! The TA for the Lab was awesome, Dr. Valenta was awesome. Be sure to go to class if you have Dr. Valenta, she gives more material to help on the test than what is on the slides alone. DO NOT SKIP CLASS!
The content of the class is about basic evolutionary biology, basic primate ecology and primate groups, and finally about the evolution of humans as a species.
The professor was great, very nice and explained things very well. The only con is you have to attend class to get all of the information you need for exams, but other than that you don't have to read the textbook.

Prof: Isis Dwyer / Summer 2022
Aug 18, 2022
This course was very unorganized. The labs have little to no learning material associated with them in order to complete them. The exams are very difficult and timed extremely harshly.
Lib gen has the textbook, to get a good grade in this course you will have to read it from front to back literally. The course covers the entire book, the lectures contain very little information so you will have to do the readings.
The professor didn't have any control over the course or it's content, the lectures were made by someone else she basically just graded stuff. The course isn't her fault.
The lab questions are sometimes very picky on what kind of answer they want but they don't tell you, same with the discussion posts. Do all the extra credit, you will need it.
