It is a very challenging class - very heavy memorization. Lectures were jam-packed with information that made it honestly a bit stressful when it was nearing the exam date. There is little orgo you need to know - just memorize everything that the professors say and write everything down
I actually enjoyed learning the material as this stuff interests me. With that said, I did not enjoy how much information you needed to digest - you had to know the structures, the reactions, and etc. You learn things like amino acids, nitrogen metabolism, glucose metabolism, and genetics - all very minute details.
There were 2 professors that taught a different section of the course and had slight nuances in their teaching and in their exams. Regardless, they were able to deliver the information in a way that was understandable for the exam
I would recommend making ANKI cards for each lecture and using it religiously. Definitely review the lectures as you go, take SI practice exams, and go to their reviews. Memorize the slides as if your life depends on it.

This is a class I had heard a lot about before taking - it's taught my three different professors and is graded exclusively off of 4 exams. The grading scale is based off of how you do compared to your peers. Don't freak out about the class but stay on top of the material because there is a LOT of material and they sometimes will test you on the details.
Interesting content - a mix of bio and chem applied to metabolism. If you're taking the MCAT - take it soon after this class because you learn everything you need to know for the biochem section.
Some professors can be kind of boring/dry but they overall mean well and are helpful.
use anki!!!
