I took the course online and rarely ever read the module sections in order to do any of the assignments. the first few assignments are basic, easy things like “make a job portfolio or make a resume” and then the workload shifts to essays and discussion posts. Still very easy, but the essays got annoying because the due dates for them would creep up around exam time and took some of my time away from studying for my exams. i’m not a great writing nor do i like it so this class was just annoying. easy, but useless and annoying
u write a few big essays, such as a failure analysis paper, research report, and a proposal project with a team. u have discussions due every now and then, very simple though.
i had eric vallee online, but i think all the online prof comm teachers set it up the same .
definitely recommend taking prof comm online, no need to take it in person

It was pretty easy as long as you do the very simple assignments. It is a lot of busy work, I must say.

This class is required for all engineering students as far as I know, so not much to say besides buckle up and tough through it. The course is very project heavy (there are no exams or quizzes, just papers, project memos, and the occasional discussion post). I found most of the assignments to be pretty useless, lots of busywork. Your proposal project group can make or break your grade, so pick good teammates.
Class content was way more useful for a civil or software engineer. As an environmental engineer, the prompts were just not set up well for enviros, and it always sort of felt like I was at a disadvantage because my field did not have the same data available as others.
Never met the professor, but the writing coaches are pretty decent people. They grade fast and are understanding, though not very quick to reply to emails.
