Interesting class. The first half deals with hallucinogenic plants. Final project is due the most points of the class. You have to create 2 new modules for the class

Easy class but interesting. Large, large focus on hallucinogens which is interesting but just a warning. Took over Summer A and was easily doable.

I really enjoyed this class. I'm an avid gardener so I thought it would focus more on crops, but it mostly focused on medicinal/cultural aspects of hallucinogenic plants. There were sections at the end of the course that got into GMOs, so that was cool.
The course was mainly composed of weekly discussions and writing assignments. I took this as a summer A class, so it was condensed. The weekly workload would be a lot less in a regular-paced class. There is one midterm and the "final" is a 2500 word essay on any topic in the class. There's one or two small extra credit assignments, but it's not hard to get an A if you do the work.
I didn't have much interaction with Shimansky. I received exactly one comment of feedback on a discussion post, and that was it. She could be picky about the essay, so definitely listen to the directions and any comments that she adds along the way regarding the essay.
That it's really informative but still quite a bit of writing is involved. If you don't want to write, this may not be the class for you.
