It’s one of those courses where the lectures and practice make so much sense, but then quizzes & exams are significantly harder. He says you should be able to “apply basic concepts to new problems”…but that’s very hard to do with no practice. I had 100s on all the homeworks and good grades on quizzes (for the most part) but honestly bombed the exams which destroyed my grade. Wouldn’t recommend unless you’ve taken a course with similar content before, or absolutely need this specific class.
Lecture videos are posted through Xronos, with practice problems in between. Nothing except exams has an actual due date, it’s all just recommended…I would follow them thought because it sets a manageable pace (one “lesson”, which includes several lecture videos and practice problems, and quiz due each week).
It’s fully online so there’s not much interaction…his lecture videos are good though, he explains things well.
I honestly hated this class not because of the workload, but because the homework/quiz/exam problems are so much harder than the examples from lectures. You watch the lecture and feel confident, then don’t know how to solve the problems…and the platform won’t show you steps on how to complete the problems.
