thank god this course was pretty easy in terms of content, because the professor was god awful. i mainly relied on the McGrawHill assignments and textbook readings to learn the content, never the actual lectures.
starts off with basic biology concepts, gets a lot more in depth later in the semester. the final exam will be your biggest problem (trying to retain everything from the semester with literally no study aids given)
her lectures are a complete waste of time and she clearly cannot teach. she either reads off the slides or skips slides entirely LOL
skip the lectures, do the assignments, read the textbook. exam review sessions are kind of helpful but not necessary. exams were pretty ez

The course was interesting. It was really intimidating having only exams, but I got Smokin Notes to help me. I'd cram for 1 day (the day of the exam), and I did decent. Where it's at is the extra credit (1 whole letter grade) quizzes (10 questions). That's how my B became an A. You have to buy the textbook though to access it which sucks, but I benefitted.
You focus on the differences between gram (-) and gram (+) bacteria like structurally, a bit of immunology, and a bit of virology. You also learn about basic healthcare concepts like vaccines/common diseases, bacterial reproduction, mutations, stuff like that.
I absolutely hated his lecture quality. It was so queit and static-y. However, when I could hear Dr. Asghari, he lectured well. He provided additional information at times that I thought was interesting.
Smokin Notes was essential for me because I didn't have time to write notes, so I got them and they were soooo helpful for cramming the day of/day before so I got high C's and B's on the exams.

This course was a mess. The professor's recorded lessons are useless for studying for the exams and can be ignored entirely since they cover different material than what is tested.
The course used mcgraw hill connect and it often asked specific questions from the text that were not really related to important concepts.
The professor took a long time to answer emails and often just ignored questions from students entirely.
Use quizlets to review exam and quiz questions that people received in the course in the past.

He is asks very specific questions on his exams. He has He old unless lectures. I would recommend Smokin' Notes. Exams are have and he won't teach the stuff that you see on the exam. Take this course with someone else.
Take it with someone else.

Online labs and assignments were a bit time consuming, but the exams were very easy.
Just memorize the study guide a day before the exam, and do the assignments and you’ll get an A

One of my favorite courses thus far. Honestly, the course is it's title, "Basic Biology of Microorganisms." My favorite part of the semester was the last unit where you learn about the biology and transmission of different pathogens and the diseases they cause.
Didn't find his lectures useful. Lots of extra credit.
Get the Smokin' Notes and just hammer them in the week before the exam.
Asghari.
