Had 4 exams, non cumulative, lowest dropped. no graded quizzes. 5/235 points based on attendance. 2 bonus points. one written assignment ( 2 page analysis of article) and two misc assignments (a simple reflection and photo of a diy illusion). exams identical to quiz content. was very similar to in lecture content, used the book very little. prof got rid of some stuff we wouldve normally learned, so i assume it would be harder if not.
psych 101. super basic overview, lots of different stuff. very few specifics, lots of application and exampls.
very good talker, doesnt know her stuff much outside of lecture content (any question not answered in the book was given a "hm, thats a good one. im not sure." very communicative and easy to ask questions. hosted reviews outside of class time based on our questions. TAs took a while to grade (2+ weeks in a 6 week course for every assignment, so didn't know my grade till the very end).
you dont need smokin notes. if youre a freshman, its a lot of content, but if you actually take it seriously its easy.

Great class! The final exam and paper are the hardest assignments in this course.
Attend the class that the professor goes over the final study guide!

Great course with super useful insights for both self growth and academics.
Super great and interesting and always there for help
Read the textbook and try remembering everything. The exam questions are made by the course coordinator rather than instructor so make sure you’re fully prepared if you aim at an A

This course is great, but I would not recommend taking it over the summer. We had hour-long lectures every day with a quiz every Friday. Textbook can be helpful to use the built-in flashcards, but I got an A without reading it. It's a good amount of work but a great jumping off point for the topics.
This class is a great introduction for anyone interested in psychology. Each chapter covers a difference branch of psychology, so you can learn what specifically about psych you are interested in
Kishel was a great teacher, she cared about her students and was always open to questions or concerns or even just to talk.
Don't put off your SONA study research participation points. They take a while and you don't want to run out of options because the teachers can't do anything about it. And take the online ones whenever possible, the in-person ones are cool but a huge pain to deal with.
