Not a lot of work, unless you opt to do the research paper option instead of taking the final (I took the final because the paper is an insane amount of work with little to no direction). Couldn't tell you anything I learned from this class though...lectures are super short and act as if you already know all the info. Textbook was written by her and discusses her own research, unnecessarily long but still doesn't make sense. No exams besides the final, which was kind of bad because you didn't know what to expect. Final exam was absolutely nothing like the practice exam or study guides, asked about things we never really learned (conspiracy theories??) and it basically determines your course grade, it's weighted so heavily. Take this course with someone else if possible, you may think it'll...read more
Literally learned nothing useful. Her lectures act as if you should know the material already, which is hard because the textbook is difficult to understand. I thought this would be a useful class, a good introduction to research in the psychology field, but it was quite literally useless and I wish it wasn't required. Or that I at least didn't take it with Klimenko.
English isn't her first language, which is fine, but the lectures are sometimes hard to understand/don't make sense and everything has a lot of typos. Final exam basically determines your grade. Don't expect an email response from her or the TA's (this semester at least) about anything really. Says she gives extra credit opportunities but there were literally only two that were worth 0.5 points each, and in a category that only weighted 2% of the grade. Left a scathing GatorEval, doing my duty to other students and leaving a warning anywhere possible. Literally any other professor is probably a better experience than her.
I wish I didn't do it. It is required, but if you can only get into her class one semester literally wait to take it. IT IS NOT WORTH IT!! Easy and light workload, but the exam is literally out to kill you. I don't know what else to say that could convince anyone not to take this class. I thought the few bad reviews I saw were being dramatic or were lazy students. They weren't. Maybe she's been better in the past, but something has drastically changed because I would never ever tell anyone to take this class with her unless they absolutely had to.

A lot of useful information. Assignments can be confusing at times. Option to do a project throughout the course or final exam. While you have to submit progress assignments on project there is little individualized feedback.quizzes are mostly easy. There are a few discussion posts as well
Available for office hours and responds to email. She is very kind and really tries to help out students.

Took this class online Summer A for psych requirement, and I was very pleased with it. Heard a lot of horror stories from other professors, but Dr. Wood sets up a very coherent and well organized class that is manageable.
Useful and practical, a bit redundant at times but not too bad
Dr. Wood is helpful and responsive on discussion boards
Stay on top of all of the work! There are a lot of assignments, so procrastination will hurt.

Not very useful, as you will learn things in this class from the other courses you’ll take. The instructions are always confusing, and the professor put a LOT of effort into the coursework, but it’s just not all necessary
Had the option to take an exam at the end of the semester or work on a research assignment that builds throughout the course. The workload is very stressful around times when submissions are due, but the discussions and other things are relatively easy.
She is very accessible through office hours and seemed like a nice person. I’ve never interacted with her personally, which I don’t like about online courses, but overall she will help you if you ask early enough.
I wish I had known the general structure beforehand. The first three weeks are so are HEAVY with discussion posts and assignments and things, which really freaked me out, but it sort of mellows out over time. I’m thankful that I don’t have to take the exam. I would definitely recommend doing the research project over leaving a big part of your grade up to one exam that is based on the book that is very easy to not read lol

Overall, this course is one of those really tedious kinds that aren't necessarily difficult, but there is a lot of work involved. Weekly quizzes for modules from the mediocre textbook she wrote (yes, she makes you buy her textbook access) and also discussion posts. It's a kinda useful class since you do learn how to use SPSS (a stats software) and how psych research generally works etc which is the point of the course. There is a big research paper you have to write that is due at the end of the course, but it's honestly not too bad because she makes small parts of it due throughout the semester and you're allowed to get feedback from the TAs. Only things that were annoying were the mistakes in her textbook and how some of the quiz questions are convoluted, but just follow the textbook as ...read more
Course content was useful in retrospect, especially if you end up becoming an RA for a psych lab at UF or want to get more into research in general. Also helpful practicing APA citations and research paper writing.
Klimenko wasn't the best prof. Since it's an online class, she doesn't really teach tbh. Also don't even try asking her for feedback because she's bad at responding and also is kinda snippish. Her textbook is riddled with mistakes and can also be convoluted in certain sections so be careful and try to get used to her writing style I guess. Also, her instructions for the paper often don't match (i.e. canvas instructions don't match her rubric for the paper which doesn't match the other instructions in the syllabus) so make sure to keep asking your GTA for feedback throughout the semester on your paper (not UTA bc sometimes they don't know what they're doing either/might not take it seriously).
Keep asking for feedback on your paper from the GTA!!! Really helped me (I got a 100 on my paper and an A+ in the course). Don't reach out to Klimenko for anything lol and be prepared to write (pick a topic that is actually interesting to you bc it's a long paper).
