I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone. The delivery of this course is frustrating because the content is extremely interesting but all the "fun" has been taken out of it due to horribly specific quiz/exam questions that don't assess your comprehension of the material.

This course is required for WEC majors and minors so there's really no getting out of it. The content is interesting some of the time, but the rest of the time it ends up being boring and way too specific for a class about general wildlife management. Also, the quizzes and tests are hard. Often times they'll be on just one sentence mentioned in the lecture or textbook, so not even the main topic of the module. The textbook is probably the worst I've had at UF so far, it makes wildlife ecology a drag.
Dr. Lashley is a nice guy but he really needs to reevaluate the course. The quizzes and tests are way too difficult compared to the level that the lectures are taught at and the topics tend to lean very heavily towards his area of expertise.
Read the textbook, read the Leopold book, come to discussions, take notes on lectures. Just get through the course, you'll pass, don't let it dishearten you too much - ecology is fun.
