Prof: Rudyard Hopkins / Spring 2022
Apr 20, 2022
Came into the course thinking that I would learn more about product management, but ultimately did not. The course mostly takes you through motions where you create various deliverables without truly understanding the role of a product manager (e.g., the ethos). The project management aspect may as well not be part of the course. The last three or four weeks are dedicated to learning about waterfall and agile project management, but at a very high level. Given that there are dedicated classes to project management it is probably superfluous to includes that topic in this course.
The book used is, "Product Management for Dummies." There are weekly modules that include a video from a previous professor, some reading assignments, and an assignment (group and solo).
Prof. Hopkins was responsive and eager to help. Didn't see much of him besides the occasional notification.
