As a pre-major, I barely spoke to my academic advisor, and I only took the prerequisites for Business Administration. I ended up being rejected from the capacity-constrained major. So, I recommend students intending capacity-constrained majors to prepare for alternative majors by taking the appropriate prerequisite courses, rather than other general education electives. For example, Math 124-125-126 sequence and/or a college-level science for Bachelor's of Science majors. Required introductory courses for other majors. If considering a minor, consider what to prioritize between the minor vs eligibility for 2nd or 3rd choice majors.
