This class will take up so much of your time and you don't really get a break. Overall, I feel like I learned a lot coming out of it and it was a lot more fun than I originally thought.
The final project is about coding a filesystem in C based on Unix systems. Imo useful and content that I hadn't learned elsewhere, and I don't think I ever would've on my own.
Don't rely on Zoom to attend class because he does not care if it is working or not. You don't need to attend class to pass, his textbook + Googling is enough to figure out how to do homework assignments. After the mid-point of the semester expect about 5 or so people regularly showing up. I didn't interact with him personally much but he seemed pretty nice (if you did the work). The site he uses for assignments and such is a bright blue with black text: https://eecs.wsu.edu/~cs360/ and it hurts
I highly recommend doing all of the assignments as they do build up your knowledge for the final project (which is the only thing that really determines your final grade). If you can finish the final project and can explain all of it, you will get an A in this class even if you completely failed the midterm and didn't do the homework assignments.

If you can afford to take less credits the semester you take 360 it is well worth it. “Labs” are due every week or every other week and are very time-consuming. Lowkey fun material but KC is very boring in lecture and basically decides your grade on a whim. There is no way to see your grade unless you bug a TA about it and even then it depends.
His website that he uses instead of Blackboard/Canvas looks so gross and is not hard to use but difficult to see new content. He speaks very quietly and while he offers a Zoom option does not think highly of people who only join via Zoom and does not care if the Zoom fails or isn’t working. He obviously knows a lot but is very old and that shows.
Show up to class. For the final (project demo to TAs and exit interview with KC), if KC recognizes you he’ll grade you better. Get the latest demo time you can (KC gets tired and asks less questions). Don’t worry about your midterm grade too much; just by doing all the HW and labs (with not much studying) I got ~70% which is pretty good considering the average was ~45%. KC will make your grade whatever he thinks you deserve.
