A "summative" style project course that lets you work on a "real" industry project related to the civil specialization (structural, transport, etc.) of your choosing. You will work in groups, meet with your project advisor, and attend EDI/personal development workshops. How the course goes for you will heavily depend on which specialization you pick, your assigned advisor and project, and your assigned group.
EDI/Personal Development Workshops: setting team norms, giving and receiving feedback. Project: group "company" presentation, midterm and final project presentations, project poster, project technical report, group "company" timesheets and templates, self and peer evaluations.
Overall was nice and motivates her students but doesn't have much direct influence since the course is mostly independent group work.
Prepare to work long hours on the project, so make sure to establish a healthy working relationship with your advisor and group. Expect to read through industry standards, catalogues, and codes, as well as learn new software.
