Comments on the course

This course has a lot of neat content, for example I learning about different chromatography columns. But the slides are very busy, and it is very content heavy especially toward the end so it can be difficult to absorb info during lecture. I found that I had to spend a lot of time reviewing the slides.

Advice

The beginning of the semester is all statistical analysis, which might seem hard at first if it is something you have never done before. But, it is the easiest part of the course, it only gets harder after that. So really try to do well on the first midterm.

Prof: Philip Britz-mckibbin / Fall 2020

Comments on the course

Lectures were theory heavy and reading sections of the textbook alongside definitely helps. The labs are a lot of work in terms of number crunching and stats, but the theory is mostly straightforward. The content is interesting and useful if your studying chem or chem bio, I'm not sure many people like it as an elective.

Comments on the professor

Dr Britz's slides were packed with information and almost unreadable. Sometimes one slide might take 15 minutes and he would get lost and talk about something twice, or forget something so everyone would be confused.

Advice

Pay attention to the excel tutorials to make the labs so much easier.
