Comments on the course

Overall, this course was well structured , the profs and TAs were very helpful, and there were a lot of opportunities to do well in the course (bi-weekly labs, online assignments, 2 online midterms, and the exam). Also, compared to the midterms and assignments the exam was very easy and almost identical to the last exams that were posted.

Course Content

The content felt very similar to grade 11 and 12 physics. The topics included estimations, kinematics, forces, energy, momentum, and fluids. Sometimes modules/lectures felt like the content wasn’t covered in depth but there were many practice materials provided and the TAs and professors were always available to answer questions. The TA help desk room in BSB was very helpful as the TAs were able to explain problems and do them step by step with you.

Comments on the professor

Dr Dalnoki Verres was a great prof and it is evident he enjoys what he does! His explanations were very clear and he was always available to answer questions before or after lectures and at his office hours. I just wish that he solved problems by hand and writing out the solutions during lecture instead of explaining the pre-typed out solutions on the slides.

Advice

Don’t stress, the weekly lon capa assignments and lab assignments boost your grade by a lot!! And the final exam was way easier than the midterms! Go to the TA help desk because it was so helpful!

Man. Not easy if you don't practice enough. Having 5 courses on your plate...and then this being one of em. I'm about to do my final exam tmrw....clearly, I'm having an existential crisis. I am worried I won't pass the course. Anyways, I have chem 1a03, math 1ls3, physics 1a03, science 1a03, and peacjust 1vm3. That's so you get some context. Math, chem physics, two electives. Bad combo—math chem and phys. Don't do it pls, go easy on yourself.
