One thing I liked about this course was the guest speakers from faculty because it allowed us to learn about different types of life sciences research that occurs at McMaster. The guest speakers from upper-year students who did LIFE SCI research practicum or placement courses was also beneficial, as were the alumni panels. The actual taught content of this course could've been covered in no more than a week though. I appreciated the evaluations in this course being science communication related as it's a very valuable skill to have. The group projects were also focused on developing crucial skills to have as a student in science, but overall I felt it was just too soft skill-focused, as much of what you'll develop are skills you already build through other coursework.
