Beware! Difficult, long essays that require you to have extensive notes on every lecture and reading to do well. Writing quality MATTERS a lot so if you're not a strong writer you're f*cked.
This class has multiple moving parts that can overwhelm you: 1. You have your hours-long online lectures 2. You're also supposed to attend in-person the class discussion at the assigned class time ("if you want to do well" according to the prof) 3. You're supposed to watch the supplementary class stuff like hour-long videos on a person mentioned in the lectures 4. Tons of long readings
He's very passionate about the topic and it helps you take in some of the material. However, he tends to peter off while talking which makes it hard to understand what he's saying and where his point is going. Hard marker.
Do not take it unless you have loads of free time. Sociology/Psychology/Social Psychology classes before this one will not prepare you for the workload. I feel I would appreciate his class more if I wasn't in my last year and didn't have other difficult classes to worry about.
