Van Camp was good, lectures were on zoom so not much interaction. TAs were passionate and helpful about the content

Comments on the course

I don't want to say this course is easy because I feel like that would be a misrepresentation of the course. However, it is set up so that if you do the readings and actively engage with the content, you're set up for success. Professor VanCamp is incredible and really advocates for proper accommodations for students. As someone who spent almost a thousand dollars on textbooks in the last year, I was incredibly grateful to have the readings available to me without cost.

Course Content

The content of this course is particularly useful for students looking to write the Social Work admissions test at McMaster, but I also believe it's useful for anyone who is looking to pursue a "helping" career and wants to be familiar with anti-oppressive frameworks and theoretical perspectives on help.

Comments on the professor

Professor VanCamp is a great professor who is always available when/if you have questions and who truly cares about the course content.

Advice

You are given ample time to work on essays, while is heavily weighted, try to work a little bit on them the entire duration as opposed to writing the essay on a shorter deadline.
